HOTSPOT | DUTCH DESIGN WEEK EINDHOVEN

27.10.14

Good morning you! Just a few snap shots of our stay in Eindhoven this weekend. We were there to celebrate the Dutch Design Week and visit as many designers as we could. And gosh, did we do so! We drove everywhere from Piet Hein Eek to Sectie C and from the Design Academy to the Klokgebouw using the Dutch Design Rides. Eindhoven really surprised us and proved to be a true design capital. Especially the Strijp area is the perfect place to shop, eat and dance. I guess that area would pretty much be our hangout if we would live in Eindhoven.

INTERVIEWING CHRIS VAN DEN ELZEN
I also did an interview with shoe and accessoires designer Chris van den Elzen. I really wanted to interview him ever-since I saw his Excidium collection (in collaboration with Judith van Vliet) at the Bregje Cox & Joelle Boers show at fashion week this summer. The interview really made me appreciate Chris' ambitions and work even more. Keep an eye on the blog for more about this interview and an up and close look at his work.

DRINKING, EATING AND DANCING
Besides checking out the design related events, we also enjoyed Eindhoven's food and party scene. Our favorite place was Het Ketelhuis, where we danced until the early hours. Our brunch at Zoet & Zout was pretty nice too by the way: the perfect start of our busy Sunday.

There is just so much to tell you that I have decided to break our experiences up into different post. So make sure you check out the blog not only for the interview with Chris van den Elzen, but also for features about up and coming designers.

That is it for now, but talk to you soon. Happy Monday!
-xoxo-
