One of the things I love most in life is discovering artists that I did not know before. And obviously sharing those finds with you. When I was browsing the Qlick Editions gallery, I found the work of Gabi van Ingen. Gabi is a young photography talent, who just recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. I instantly loved her photography as it reflects the current zeitgeist perfectly. The pictures tell the story of Gabi, who felt lonely as a child when her dad left home. Gabi says that she was never able to release the fear of being alone. Now she finds beauty in emptiness, which definitely shows through her work.

I was instantly attracted to all Gabi's work - check out her portfolio here - but especially to her series named ###, where she combines raw nature with clean geometric shapes. Those geometric shapes almost add a third dimension to the works, while intensifying the beauty, emptiness and adamant of the landscapes. It might be that I am just a sucker for geometric shapes, but to me these photographs are phenomenal. I could look at them for hours.

Curious about your opinion on Gabi's work. ;-)

Have a great Thursday!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I appreciate and read every single one of them. Talk to you soon! -xoxo-
