Holiday Report | Valencia

 Hello lovely! Zoals ik al vertelde was dit niet een van de meest fashionable vakanties, maar wel een hele fijne gelukkig. Ik heb een kleine selectie van mijn Instagram foto's voor je gemaakt. Uit enthousiasme heb ik heel wat momenten vastgelegd, vandaar dat de rest te vinden  is op mijn profiel. ;-)

Dus waar kijk je naar? 

1. De kaart van de oude stad van Valencia. Ons appartement zat meer richting de haven (en dus dichter bij het strand) en de Ciudad de Las Artes Y Ciencias. In de oude stad vind je echter alles op het gebied van lekker eten, cultuur en natuurlijk shoppen! Door het warme weer was het 's middags niet uit te houden in de stad. Vandaar dat we ervoor kozen om 's ochtends leuke dingen te doen in de stad en 's middags van de zon te genieten op het strand.

2. Binnen 2,5 uur vliegen zit je in Valencia. Niet al te lang dus, waardoor Valencia ook heel goed te doen is als stedentrip. 

3. Borrelen in de oude stad in de wijk Rufazza. In deze wijk vind je veel gezellige bars, restaurants en winkels die tot laat open zijn. Perfect dus om de avond te starten. 

4, 5 & 6. Geen uitleg nodig. ;-)

7. Deze vakantie heb ik het boek 'Dat kan mijn kleine zusje ook' van Will Gompertz gelezen. Echt een aanrader voor iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in moderne kunst, er nog niet alles van weet en op een leuke manier wil weten wat nou het verschil is tussen de werken van je kleine zusje en de topstukken in musea. 

8. Een simpele outfit voor weer een ochtend in de stad. Mijn Nike Free Run's hebben zich zeker bewezen deze vakantie!

9. Straatje met gekleurde huizen vlak bij het strand: op een of andere manier geven dit soort straatjes altijd een instant vakantiegevoel. 

Verder vond ik vooral de wijken rondom de kathedraal (Plaza de la Virgen), de Mercado de Colon, en de Mercado Central super leuk. Echt aanraders voor als je van lekker eten, relaxte mensen en lekker shoppen houdt. En volgens mij is dat wel aan jou besteed! ;-)

Translation: Hello Lovely! As I told you, this was not the most fashionable holiday I ever went on, but that does not mean it was any less fun. I selected a few of my favorite Instagram pictures for you in this post (following me already?) to show you bits and pieces of what I was up to last week. I got a bit carried away by the beauty of Valencia though, so there are lots of pics still to be found on my profile. ;-)

So what are you looking at?

1. The map of the old city of Valencia. Our apartment was located near the harbor (and therefore closer to the beach) and the Ciudad de Las Artes Y Ciencias. In the old city you will find everything you need regarding food, culture and shopping though. Because of the heat, we chose to stroll around the city in the mornings and visit the beach in the afternoons!

2. Valencia is only a 2,5 hour flight from Amsterdam, which also makes it the perfect destination for a short city trip. 

3. Me while sipping on an obligatory Spanish beer in the old city of Valencia in the district Rufazza. Filled with lots of bars and cute shops, it is one of my favorite districs in Valencia.

4, 5 & 6. No explanation needed. :-) 

7. This holiday I read the book 'What are you looking at?' from Will Gompertz. A must read for anyone who is into modern art, does not know everything yet and wants to know what is the difference between the paintings of your little sister and the masterpieces in museums.

8. A simple outfit for another walk through the city. My Nike Free Run's definitely proofed themselves! 

9. Lovely street near the beach with lots of brightly colored houses. Streets like these always give me that instant holiday feeling. 

Further more, I really liked the areas around the big cathedral (Plaza de la Virgen), the Mercado de Colon and the Mercado Central. A must visit for anyone who is into food, easy going people and shopping. And I already know that you love that! ;-)
